Travel Books

I haven't thought it appropriate to fill my galleries with pictures from my travels, many of which not technically "my best work." But Ashley and I love seeing old trip pictures so I put ours together into a book when we return.

They are posted here.

This section has pdfs of my travel books as soon as I can post them.  You may need to download a pdf reader  to view the book.  If you are unfamiliar with viewing pdfs,

click the 3 dots in the top right corner of the screen when the pdf opens and chose "Present" and "Two Page View."

Khiva Dome

Uzbekistan and Turkey

We flew to Istanbul, spent several days in both Cappadocia and Ephesus, then joined a tour of the Silk Road in Uzbekistan, ending with four nights in Istanbul.

Bird in South America

South America (2025)

We traveled to spend time with my children for my 70th birthday, saw two different parts of the Amazon River Basin (in Peru and Ecuador) and traveled in other parts of both countries, including the Galapagos.

Bridge

Iceland (2025)

During our four weeks in Iceland, we drove over 3,000 miles, visited places that most international tourists rarely go, and enjoyed the varied beauty of the country.

Sand Dunes in Africa

Africa (2024)

We traveled first to Egypt, including an organized multiday riverboat trip on the Nile. We then spent time in South Africa, Botswana and Namibia, my favorite.

Roof

Vietnam & Cambodia (2023)

We traveled to Vietnam and Cambodia, including to Siem Reap to visit Angor Wat. On the way home we stopped in Singapore to spend time in its fantastic botanical gardens.

Boat in Icy Water

Antartica & Chile (2022)

We flew to Chile and flew over the Drake Passage before boarding a small ship to explore a small part of the Continent. We then visited the Chilean Patagonia and the Atacama Desert.

Palm Tree on the Beach

Maldives (2019)

We traveled first to Maldives for a small island holiday, then went to Jordan to see Petra and Wadi Rum, the southern desert.

Man walking with camel

Morocco (2016)

We traveled by car to Chefchouan, Fez, through the Atlas Mountains and into the Southern Sahara. We ended with a stay in a traditional riad in Marrakech.

Blue water in New Zealand

New Zealand (2014 - 2015)

I call it the Land of Tomorrow, though the South Island feels like the Land of Yesterday because you can imagine dinosaurs gallivanting across the landscape.
